Thinking about the relatinship of memes and rhizomes...

aBouT wHaT a RhiZoMe iS...

rhizome...
is a kind of network, different from the trees, that begin in one point and are divided in many parts... A rhizome can start in one point or in several ones, and it is subdivided in many diferents ways, which at the end are related between them. Some examples of it are the relations between cultures, or even between people, the comunications, and, of course, the internet is the most illustrating example of rhizome...
To demonstrate a rhizome, we took as example of it "rumours". When something happens, normally about the private life of someone, people can't take it as a secret and they HAVE to speak about it to some people, who are of course going to tell it to some more people... and then it is being created a network between all that people, even if they don't know each other, they have something in common... the gossip. We have made a small video explaning the equivalence between rhizome and rumour... I will link it when I succed doing it!!!!

Network means comunication...
...comunication between two societies, people, art movements, etc means influence... Therefore, networks have a strong influence in our culture, which of course includes architecture, because they make possible the contact between people from different countries and even continents without going out of their place of work. They also, with systems like the internet, give us the possibility of reach information from all around the world by only writing a few words in our computer. Then, from my personal view, networks have created influences between the differents built landscapes of the hole planet... which is a great advance since faults that have already been made by someone, won't be made again... or at least they shouldn't...

or maybe not... we never know. Después de la maratón alcoholica de la semana pasada, hoy toca ya un primer día de descanso para que el riñón se recupere...
